One Day

"If you had one day to spend with someone who's gone... Who would it be? What would you do?"

This was the title of last Sunday's Parade Magazine written by Mitch Albom. It got me to thinking.

Thinking.

Thinking.

I'm thinking why the heck didn't I think of that! Damn you, Mitch Albom! Foiled again! (BTW, I'm really looking forward to his new novel, For One More Day.)

So back to the question, "If you had one day to spend with someone who's gone... Who would it be? What would you do?"

I have no one I need to see on the other side. No one I loved, really loved, has past. There is no one I care to see whom I may have unresolved issues with. So maybe I need to do some more thinking on this.

But, what would your answer be? Do you have someone you'd like to have just one more day with?

Think about it.

If I could spend one day with someone who has passed, it would be my dad.

I would be like your 3 yr old and ask many many questions: Who are they? What are their names? What are they doing? What do they got? I would ask about my family. I would ask about my friends. I would ask his opinion, which I never before the day he died realized was so valuable. And lastly, I would tell him I love him, in case he didn't hear me the first time.

The one person I would love to be with.....My mother. I would love one more day to tell her once more how much I loved her and was so happy and proud to call her my Mom. We would do nothing but sit and talk and hold each other. I would ask her what Heaven is like and to hold a place for me.
